BE A GOOD NEWS EXPERT!
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Miracles follow the gospel because the gospel is the power of God! So it is very important that we Christians become good news experts!
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news of what He has already accomplished: salvation, healing - all we will ever need has already been provided for! The devil is defeated and we have the victory! Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. Jesus is the guide of our life and we have peace and safety in our lives when we trust Him.
1 Cor 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; 2 By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. KJV
It Cannot Be Earned
The Apostle Paul reminds them: This is the gospel which we have preached to you; this is the good news that you have received. It cannot be earned because it was already paid for at the cross. The foundation of our abundant life is standing on the finished work of Christ and by this message we are saved - the good news of salvation.
Grace is what God has already provided for us through Jesus Christ and faith is the hand that receives what has already been provided!
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
All of us desire to see the power of God working with us. We desire to see God’s power wherever we go. The power of God is in the announcement of the gospel. The power of God is not found in someone declaring judgment and the wrath of God. It is not found in pointing out all the failures of someone’s life. It is not found in what we can do in good works and it is not found in religion. The power of God is found when we tell the good news of what Jesus has done.
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. What was their message? What were they preaching where Jesus went with them confirming the word with signs following? What was the message that brought the power of God into the picture? They were preaching the gospel!
Many like to preach what God is going to do: God is bringing judgment and condemnation to the homosexuals; God is going to judge that city because of their sin; or God is going to move in a certain place or certain way because we have fasted and prayed.
There is no power in speaking those kinds of things. The power of God is the gospel – the good news of what Jesus has done. He was our wrath-bearer. All the anger of God towards sin was poured out on Jesus at the cross!
I understand there are prophetic words that foretell but that is not the gospel, because the gospel is good news and news is what has already happened. The other is prophecy of what is to come. The power of God is in the announcement of the gospel. To preach what God has done is the power of God!
Become a good news expert, tell the story of what God has done at the cross! At the cross Jesus blood redeemed us from sin, paid for our healing, and brought us peace in every situation. At the cross He released divine direction. This is the gospel in which we stand! Tell the good news - tell the gospel news that Jesus has provided for every area of our life. Just like in mathematics, addition is an absolute, so is preaching the good news. Faith is added when the good news is declared. And when the components of the good news and faith are combined we find the sum to equal a miracle in the life of someone. We have all we need by declaring what happened at the cross.
This is the gospel – this is the news that is too good to be true. We no longer have to ever be lonely because He will never leave us or forsake us. This is good news that has already been accomplished at the cross. Not only did Jesus conquer all the power of the devil, He conquered all the power of the enemy so that we are more than conquerors. Where He ended, we begin. He is seated and His work is finished. We are also seated with Him in glory. Go tell the news! Tell the good news of how He has touched your life. Tell the good news – it is the power of God! Be A Good News Expert!!
