You Already Have It!
The grace of God continues to amaze me on so many levels! When we stop for just a moment and consider all He has provided for our lives through Jesus Christ the Lord! Ephesians 1:3 reveals to us that He has already blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ and verse 6 we discover that to the praise of the grace of His Father that Jesus has made us fully qualified to receive all the promises of God! Friend this is good news!
Not only has God provided all Spiritual blessings, but according to 2Peter 1:3 He has also provided all we will ever need for life and for godliness! What an incredible package that comes to us when we believe! At that moment we believe we are born again…born of heaven, a new creature in Christ Jesus!
We do have a spiritual enemy called Satan which means adversary and his demons continue to work in the same way they did when they deceived Adam and Eve, they work to make us believe that we are “not quite there”, or that “we are missing something” or that “God is holding some spiritual blessing back from our lives until we change more” These are lies that if believed can stagnate our forward motion.
When you and I were “Born Again” we received the full package and like a new born baby we now need to simply develop and be good stewards of what we have been given. We are the righteousness of God in Christ…we are not becoming the righteousness of God in Christ…we are (2Corithians 5:21) fully qualified by the grace of the Father sending His Son Jesus to become sin so that we can become righteous! WOW!
Like a child taking the first step, they stumble along until after practice they get better and better at walking, then can run and jump etc. To be skilled at anything in life takes practice, the more you do it the better you become at it. Even Jesus as a man when He raised the first person from the dead, that person had only been dead a few minutes, the second person He raised from the dead had been dead a few hours, then Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and he had been dead four days, and finally Jesus Himself was dead and rose again bringing us to new life as well. One day Jesus calmed the water, then later actually walked on the water. As you can see, Jesus developed His spiritual gifts that He already had by using them.
Hebrews 5:13 Every one that uses milk is “unskillful” in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. (We are the righteousness of God in Christ, fully qualified to walk in the power of the Spirit, using the gifts He has already given to us!)
Vs 14 Strong meat (Word of Righteousness) belongs to those that are of full age who by “reason of use” (practice) have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
I want to encourage you to move forward in the power of the Spirit of the Living God and put to practice those spiritual gifts He has endowed you with! Oh yes, you may be unskillful in using them at first, but stand in faith believing you are the righteousness of God fully qualified and that signs will follow because you believe in Jesus! With practice, by reason of use, you will become skillful, and your life will bring hope to the lost and Glory to Jesus!
